چکیده
Various aspects affecting the steam economy of a raw sugar mill are discussed. Process and prime mover steam requirements are evaluated for a new 600 ton canelhour factory currently under construction at Felixton, and options for achieving a level of steam economy where fibre can be supplied to a downstream paper mill with the appropriate fuel economy are evaluated. The necessity to allow for flexibility should conditions affecting the bagasse supply in the future change is highlighted.
